DaVita Catskill Dialysis center is extremely poorly managed, patient care is secondary. Staff is minimal, overworked up to 14 hour/day, often two days in succession, alarms not responded to for up to 5 minutes at a time, in training staff required to perform patient care without proper supervision, poor maintenance and other unsafe conditions (emergency call bell in restroom inoperative for almost two months), and the list goes on. Year round residents are forced to wait an excessive amount of time (often over an hour) after their scheduled chair time to be even be admitted to the unit while "summer visitors" are given preferential treatment without waiting! If there is a comment or complaint, the issue is not addressed and wait time is increased as a penalty. This is mostly an ethnic issue and creates hostile feelings and a hardship for some.

WORKING IN A SWEAT SHOP IS BETER

WORKING FOR COMPANY FOR A YEAR NOW. HAVE NOTHING GOOD TO SAY ABOUT THE COMPANY.

WE ARE WORKING SHORT STAFFED AND MANAGEMENT SAYS WE ARE OVERSTAFFED. IM DISGUSTED ABOUT THE SCHEDULE AND PATIENT TIMES. WE HAVE THEM COMING OFF AT SAME TIME AND WE ARE REQUIRED TO DO THIS AND ITS UNSAFE. WE ARE A HIGH ACUTE UNIT WITH LOTS OF WHEEL CHAIRS AND LIFTS AND STRETCHERS.

PATIENTS FEEL UNSAFE AND HAVE EXPRESSED THEIR EMOTION. MANAGEMENT SPENDS TIME IN OFFICE OR NOT IN BUILDING. IF WE SAY A CONCERN THEN WE ARE CONSIDERED NEGATIVE. INSTEAD OF LISTENING AND CARING.

THE NEW FACILITY IS NICE BUT THE AMOUNT OF RUNNING AROUND IS CRAZY. WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO SIT DUE TO NO TIME AND IF WE DO THEN WE ARE CONSIDERED NOT WORKING. GETTING IN TROUBLE FOR NOT DOING STAR LEARNING BUT THERE IS NO TIME TO DO THIS .

PATIENT CARE COMES FIRST. AND THATS ALL DAY.

Well my complaint has been an ongoing issue for a year. I have requested a early morning chair since the beginning of my treatment last year in 2015. My social workwr said it would be hard but it shouldnt take long. Now we are in 2016 soom 2017 and sti no early chair, but we have been through FAs all kinds of staff memebera that no one cam keep track. I ask for one thing and I find out new patients are coming in getting early chairs and Im getting lies. We even had a meeting concerning issuea withy treatment and they lied in my face again. If it wasnt for me being scared to die I woukd never attemd Davita Horizon. The only good thing is the techs. Facility is always broke down. Head staff unorganized. Turn arounds are horrible. Too many to name. Understaff,short handed just on and on. I dont like the favortism i am seeing. I want what i asked for and have been asking for. The fact that that these ppl do not think of my needs is a *** poor job. I asked for a early chair becauae i have 3 children at home amd when there isnt school i wouldnt like to come while they sleep becauae i dont have a babysitter and cant afford one. Also there is a TTS open now but not enough staff to cover so there is one shift 2nd. Now does that make sense? I mean u have all thesr patients on MWF when u can shift some and hire new ppl to run all shifts. Why is this an issue.

Employees bring fast food and they leave kitchen door open. Ask to close and was told dont smell. Door should be closed t all times. This is davita in chico california. Is not easy to do dialysis in this enviroment. Lots of problems here. This just one problem.

Davita Patient Care Review

My husband does his dialysis treatments in Bradenton fla, off cortez. The main lady nurse in charge NANCY. She is a lazy womaan unable to keep a successful staff. She is forever rude to her patients. Making it more miserable than it already is. She is down grading. I am sad to know when my husband getts home he has such awful things to say abt his time there. This has been going on now for over a year. I wish someone would look into her obnoxious behavior tward the patient. Thank you

I went to the davita nurses for help and they told me what they thought was wrong with me not a doctor. Their solution to the extreme pain im having is to let it work itself out. Ive am been currently going on nine days with this pain with nothing being solved. And their attuitude was terrible. Very upset.

Probably the worst ran facility I have ever seen, pretty much sums it all up. Old staff runs off new staff, old staff Tech's think they are nurses, they let the the nurses know when someone is having problems, but of course charts that they did. Dangerous place to get care. Pretty much any other facility would fire the staff that causes these problems, but they keep these members for no reason at all. I would never let my family or friends go to this facility, nor wold I ever suggest for anyone to go there. But the social worker and nutrition workers are great and respectful and helpful. The RN, staff is great also.

Its a crying shame that staff will not allow patients to use bathroom even before being hooked up to the machine because the claim they are not allowed to even assist with helping patient get out of recliner and to the restroom. Shame on them. They should have to sit in their on waste for 4 hours straight.

NO STAFF AND ACQUIRED TEAMATES TREATED POORLY WHILE THE NEW ONES THAT NEVER COME TO WORK ARE TREATED GREAT!!! BOSS IS A POOR EXCUSE FOR A LEADER AND A LIAR. Full-time 30 Hours!

It has come to my attention from an employer that working full-time for Davita is now only 30 hours. This is utter BS.

How can people live! We work our *** of and you pay us like slaves, while corporate lavishes in the millions/billions of dollars. This company is horrific. It is understaffed, the staff they do have is overworked, many of the staff are incompetent, and the good staff are paid pennies.

This company needs to be called out and blasted for their mistreatment of their workers. It is time for people to wake up and understand just how terrible this company is.

That is why I left. I really feel bad for the patients as they don't have this option.

I could not agree more. Employees are low-down and management is even worse.

They abuse there power. You get paid pennies to do and complete the impossible, you are completely and utterly overwhelmed everyday and they still request more.

They give you this *** speech about and brain-washing mission statement" we want to be the best employer in the world" But you get fired for reporting something they said was confidential. Stay away!

today 10/19/16 we as savita clients sit in a extremly hot center with nothing but fans, with as much money as we pay per week for treatment u would think that better resources would have been used on a 85+ degree day. i am terribly disappointed in davitas actions on this day this is the Rivertown location and i will be putting this on social media because that seams to be the only actions that companies respond to, i have a video that will be poated with 25+ clients sweltering in heat while on vital life saving treatment. we have no choice but to endure. this is one of the worse places ever and if u have a choice donot choose this center it needs to be closed and boarded up. completely rediculous i wouldnt do this to my dog!!

I'm currently in a center where my director and charge nurse for TTS are being mean and disruptive to my treatment. I do admit when I am beyond angry I do curse holler and want action.

I've been labeled as its "one of her days" I will not tolerate the charge nurse threatening to remove me from my treatment for "ruining EVERYBODYs day".

I went to the doctor even my nephrologist and I'm still not happy.

I'm not sure the next course of action should be. Please help.

I am not a coward I have a voice, I used my voice as a PCT at Davita Downtown Los Angeles and was intimidated and harassed by my CC.

My FA ignored my complaints and failed to protect me and the end result I was terminated. My name is Miguel Reyes not anonymous, I have a voice and will not stop using it.

Request some face time with the Mayor KT or go to the media. Not all DaVita employees are bad.

For instance, the benefits team can not be improved, they are the best.

I don't know your particular citation, but first look at you carefully then have all you ducks in a row when you talk to KT the Mayor of DaVita village. They call themselves the village and the mayor of the village is KT.

I just went through the same thing!!! So many abn BPs are charted as "normal", bp cuffs are always loose and give high readings. One of the Dr's almost changed this pts bp meds and change the dry weight. The Charge Nurse is bff's w/2 of the PCT 's, (one is her neighbor), and as soon as 1st shift pt's are on.. it's social networking time. While all that *** is going on I was doing their vitals, but I found way to many things wrong. The c. Nurse would just huddled them all up and they would laugh. So, I started going to my FA. she got tired of it and told me "Just. Stay out of their Pods, I'm getting to Many Complaints that your not getting along with the team. Omg!! Sooooo many things they have done should have resulted in automatic termination, but they still do it. The charge nurse actually Yells at the Patients. I would say about 60% are scared to report any problems because she might blame them or most likely, she wont do anything anyway but say, call your primary, we can't do anything. So they usually end up in the ER or hospital. I am an LPN. Which, Brenda... the C Nurse says: :ALL LPN's ARE , ARE 'GLOFIFIED TECHS'" Ya got that all my sister and brother LPN's? ??? Anyways. I listen to the lung sounds prn, but I noticed like a yr ago that SHE HAS NOT regularly done this, or Pre-Assessment on the Pt's at all! I smell Fraudc I mean Liar!!! But I'm THE ONE WHO JUST GOT FIRED for being late!!!! REALLY? ???? My FA told all the Teammates last that it is ok to keep the gift certificates from the 2 pt's because everyone else does at their office. No way was I doing that!! I gave them right back.

I called DaVita dialysis this morning to try to follow up with the manager about a job posting. She was not in.

The first receptionist I spoke with was very friendly and nice & helpful. I waited for a couple hours to call back. The second receptionist I spoke with was very rude. Her name was Ms.Wanda at the Pascagoula location.

She continued giving me the run around about speaking to the manager.

Once I explained that I would file a complaint about my service on the phone she got very verbally combative on the phone which is extremely unprofessional. I was interested in becoming a Patient Care Technician there but after my experience I think I will take my skill set else where.
